Lead Oracle DBA Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership for Professional Services Consultancy to all members of the DBA Team.

• Mentor and guide the DBA team, enhancing performance, consistency, and best practices.

• Oversee resource planning, utilization, and delivery in alignment with project objectives.

• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle databases along with associated technologies.

• Design and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions utilizing RMAN.

• Lead database migrations, upgrades, tuning, and performance optimization tasks.

• Offer technical consultancy, database sizing, and infrastructure recommendations to customers.

• Assist in customer implementations and resolve intricate database-related challenges.

• Collaborate with Development teams to enhance scalability, performance, and reliability.

• Contribute to pre-sales efforts, technical proposals, and solution design.

• Provide Oracle knowledge transfer and training to technical teams.

• Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rotation.

• Identify opportunities for integrating AI and automation to enhance operational efficiency and customer results.

• Evaluate and address risks related to AI implementation, including data quality, bias, and governance.

• Advocate for practical and value-oriented use of AI across Technical Services and Solution Architecture teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in Oracle Database Administration.

• Proficiency in database backup, recovery, performance tuning, and optimization.

• Familiarity with Oracle RAC, RMAN, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.

• Demonstrated leadership or team management experience.

• Strong customer-facing consultancy and stakeholder management abilities.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
