
Lead Medical Writer – Medical Communications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the primary writer and main client liaison for designated accounts
• Collaborate with project teams to create content that guarantees high-quality editorial execution of client initiatives
• Proactively engage with editorial, clients, vendors, and project teams to ensure timely and budget-friendly project completion
• Brief, assess, mentor, and guide junior writers
• Provide top-notch scientific oversight for significant or complex projects or workstreams assigned
• Propel project delivery and advocate for both internal and external processes, including compliance
• Assist in business development by researching, conceptualizing, and strategizing new medical communication projects and publications
• Represent Avalere Health during client meetings, advisory boards, speaker training sessions, and business development efforts
• Manage multiple medical communications accounts focused on Oncology
• Convert intricate data into clear and compelling narratives for healthcare professionals
• Create client presentations and supervise editorial outputs in accordance with timelines and deliverables
• A degree in life sciences; PharmD or PhD is highly preferred
• Ideally, 4+ years of experience in medical or scientific writing, preferably in a healthcare consultancy or medical communications agency
• Proven expertise in developing scientific content related to Oncology
• Demonstrated capability to manage various types of scientific content, including high-volume publications, and review content for precision and coherence
• Established experience in project ownership and problem-solving
• Ability to proactively collaborate in a team-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills with clients and capacity to act as a dependable point of contact for clients and external experts
• Proven ability to lead and mentor less experienced writers
• Experience in managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
• Knowledge of compliance and regulatory guidelines pertaining to medical communications
