This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the primary writer and client liaison for designated accounts.
• Collaborate with assigned project teams to produce content that ensures high-quality editorial execution.
• Engage proactively with editorial staff, clients, vendors, and project teams.
• Guarantee timely and budget-compliant project completion.
• Brief, review, mentor, and guide less experienced writers.
• Provide scientific oversight for complex projects or workstreams.
• Facilitate project delivery and advocate for both internal and external processes, including compliance.
• Assist in business development efforts.
• Explore, conceptualize, and strategize new medical communications projects and publications.
• Represent Avalere Health during client meetings, advisory boards, speaker training sessions, and business development activities.
• Produce scientifically accurate medical communications content focused on Oncology.
• Oversee multiple accounts while ensuring editorial excellence from the planning stage through final review.
• Manage content distribution and strategic client interactions.
• Create client presentations and supervise editorial deliverables against established timelines.
• A degree in life sciences is required.
• A PharmD or PhD is preferable.
• Ideally, a minimum of 3 years of experience in medical or scientific writing within a healthcare consultancy or medical communications agency.
• Demonstrated experience in developing scientific content across various therapeutic areas.
• Oncology expertise is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience in managing scientific content types, including publications.
• Capability to review content for accuracy and coherence.
• Proven track record in project ownership and problem-solving.
• Ability to work proactively in a collaborative team setting.
• Strong skills in client communication.
• Capacity to act as a dependable point of contact for clients and external experts.
• Ability to provide leadership and mentorship to junior writers.
• Experience in managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact.
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards for medical communications.
