This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Lead and guide engineering teams, delivering high-quality technical solutions that align with customer needs.
• Supervise the mechanical design process, encompassing custom mechanical handling systems, lifting equipment, and accessories, from initial concept through to production.
• Oversee the creation, review, and validation of technical documentation, ensuring the accuracy of design reports, detailed design drawings, technical files, calculations, and compliance records.
• Offer technical expertise and risk assessment, proactively identifying and addressing challenges before they affect project schedules.
• Collaborate with project managers, fellow lead engineers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation.
• Utilize Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and FEA tools in project execution.
• Interact with the supply chain, communicating with vendors to define and develop mechanical components.
• Ensure adherence to industry regulations, including Machinery Safety Regulations and LOLER.
• BEng (2:1 or higher) in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering within a highly regulated industry.
• Strong understanding of design for fabrication, welding, and manufacturing tolerances.
• Specification experience in heavy industry design, such as offshore, oil and gas, construction equipment, or related fields.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical and structural engineering principles, including mechanical handling, design for manufacture, and machinery design.
• Capability to lead teams and effectively delegate tasks, promoting a collaborative work atmosphere.
• Chartered Engineer status.
• Familiarity with MathCAD FEA software (ANSYS, STAAD).
• Experience with piping design software (Fluid Master / Fluid Flow, CAESAR).
• Awareness of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and requirements-led design is advantageous.
• Familiarity with NEC 4 contracts and risk identification is preferred.
• Knowledge of BS EN 13001, BS EN 13155, or similar crane-related standards is preferred.
• Experience with hydraulics and control systems is advantageous.
• Only UK nationals are eligible.
• Must be eligible to obtain SC clearance (can initially start on BPSS).
