Lead IT Applications Software Engineer – Finance Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Serve as the internal technical lead for finance applications, specifically FP&A.

• Guide vendors and system integrators through the implementation process and ongoing maintenance, including scope definition, design reviews, UAT, and go-live phases.

• Ensure quality assurance of vendor and system integrator activities and take ownership of delivery outcomes.

• Favor configuration over customization and encourage Finance stakeholders to modify processes when necessary.

• Guarantee a smooth transition from system integration to business-as-usual operations, including ongoing improvements, development, and support.

• Design, develop, configure, and integrate finance applications, ensuring integration with NetSuite as the ERP hub.

• Utilize APIs, data models, and process automation for seamless system integrations.

• Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to transform requirements into technical designs and functional solutions.

• Develop and maintain thorough documentation for development and customization activities.

• Offer security, data protection, and technical advice on the development of finance applications, integration patterns, and best delivery practices.

• Keep abreast of finance-application platforms and suggest enhancements.

• Partner with Finance, the NetSuite platform team, and other systems teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in building and integrating business applications, with exposure to finance domains such as FP&A, ERP, billing, or similar.

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience in a finance-systems environment that includes an ERP (NetSuite or similar) is preferred.

• Practical experience in developing and integrating business or finance applications, including APIs, data models, SQL or equivalent, and middleware or similar integration tools.

• Understanding of the differences between configuration and customization, with experience maintaining packaged products within configuration limits.

• Experience in implementing, maintaining, or technically overseeing a commercial FP&A product is highly desirable, such as Anaplan, OneStream, Pigment, or NetSuite Planning and Budgeting.

• Experience supervising a vendor or system integrator during the implementation of a purchased finance application.

• Familiarity with development and IT service management practices, including change management, service requests, and incident and problem management.

• Knowledge of access management, IT controls, and compliance frameworks such as SOC, SOX, and GDPR.

• Proficient in using Jira and Confluence.

• Experience working with or managing system integrators or implementation partners.

• Strong documentation skills.

• Experience in Agile teams.

• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentoring on development best practices.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, stakeholder engagement, and expectation management.

• Capable of working independently, managing multiple tasks, and maintaining organization and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
