
Lead Internal Events, Production Strategist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and oversee GitLab’s internal events strategy, which encompasses company-wide assemblies, ask me anything (AMA) sessions, Company Kick-Off, virtual gatherings, and occasional in-person summits.
• Manage the entire event lifecycle, from conceptualization and budgeting to logistics, production, execution, and post-event evaluation.
• Create scalable, accessible, and inclusive event experiences for a globally distributed workforce operating across all time zones.
• Collaborate with Executive Communications, the Executive Group, senior leaders, People Business Partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure programming aligns with company objectives and engagement targets.
• Oversee external vendors, production agencies, platform partners, creative projects, and internal event budgets, focusing on quality, cost-effective delivery, and return on investment.
• Generate high-quality team member stories in partnership with agencies for dissemination in the Loop and during internal events.
• Establish and monitor event success metrics, utilizing data and team member feedback to enhance future experiences.
• Investigate event technologies and formats, including AI-powered tools, virtual platforms, and hybrid experiences, while leveraging Internal Communications channels to raise awareness and extend event narratives.
• Proven experience in planning and executing large-scale, complex internal events for audiences exceeding 500 participants, preferably in a distributed or remote-first organization.
• Background in corporate events, team member experience, internal communications, or a related field.
• Excellent project management skills, with the capability to oversee multiple high-visibility events while maintaining a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and confidence in collaborating with and presenting to senior leadership.
• Experience in managing event budgets and liaising with external production vendors and agencies.
• Knowledge of virtual and hybrid event platforms, such as Zoom Events, and a keen interest in utilizing AI tools to enhance productivity, ideation, or event personalization.
• Proficiency in using GitLab, or a willingness to learn and adopt GitLab tools as part of your daily responsibilities.
• A self-motivated, proactive approach suited for a high-autonomy, asynchronous environment, along with empathy for remote team member experiences and fostering connections across diverse backgrounds.
