This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.
• Strategize the technical roadmap for the Technology organization in collaboration with architects.
• Create, develop, and deploy automated Kubernetes environments.
• Design, sustain, and enhance Terraform scripts for Azure infrastructure.
• Work alongside software engineering teams to facilitate development cycles and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Automate monitoring and alerting systems to ensure maximum availability and reduce downtime.
• Execute security automation and maintain continuous compliance.
• Oversee the implementation and management of cloud infrastructure and networking.
• Investigate and troubleshoot production issues.
• Standardize and automate system setups and configurations in collaboration with architects and designers.
• Optimize Infrastructure Engineering practices.
• Design, implement, and manage resilient, available, and high-performing services through platform engineering.
• Collaborate with network and security teams on cloud architecture, connectivity, and security measures.
• Address incidents and conduct root cause analysis for significant outages.
• Develop solutions for systemic failures and provide after-hours alert response support.
• Tackle complex issues with minimal need for escalation.
• Offer technical leadership to the Infrastructure Engineering team.
• Implement monitoring, automated provisioning, and self-healing automation processes.
• Report on infrastructure performance and operational KPIs.
• Document environments and processes that support products.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is required; a degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred.
• A minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience is necessary.
• At least 5 years of experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services.
• Over 5 years of experience in building operational systems for custom software applications.
• In-depth expertise in Kubernetes, Event Bus architecture, Infrastructure as Code, and automation techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of container/orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, AKS, and EKS.
• Comprehensive understanding of continuous integration and delivery practices, including GitLab and GitHub Actions.
• Proficient in Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.
• Skilled in using Chef, Packer, Puppet, and similar configuration management tools.
• Mastery of monitoring tools like New Relic, Azure Insights, AWS CloudWatch, and others.
• Expertise in PowerShell, Python, and YAML.
• Proficient in Kafka event bus technology.
• Expert Linux systems administration skills within a cloud environment.
• Mastery of IAM accounts and policies.
• Proficient in REST and GraphQL technologies.
• Azure/AWS associate certification or higher is preferred.
• Experience in development using .NET or Node.js is preferred.
• Ability to provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
