Lead Engineer – Protection & Control

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Manage a team of protection and control engineers, engineering technicians, and drafting technicians from the project proposal phase through to the as-built stage.

• Collaborate with Substation Physical Engineering, Relay Settings, and other departments to ensure design alignment.

• Create comprehensive engineering design packages for protective relaying and communications systems.

• Develop SCADA packages, which include input/output lists and Point Data Sheets.

• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to drafters, engineering technicians, and less experienced engineers.

• Build and maintain relationships with senior engineers, managers, executives, and both current and potential clients.

• Present technical solutions to clients and address any technical concerns or inquiries.

• Lead or engage in client meetings and job-site visits to gather or share design and engineering information.

• Conduct and ensure adherence to company QA/QC processes for all design packages.

• Assign, organize, prioritize, and review the work of fellow engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE); degrees in Civil Engineering will also be considered.

• An MS Degree in Engineering may substitute for the BS Engineering degree.

• International Engineering Degrees will be accepted.

• A minimum of seven years of electrical engineering experience is preferred.

• Experience in protection and control engineering is mandatory.

• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or a plan to obtain registration is required.

• A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are necessary.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is essential.

• Strong analytical and computer skills are required.
