Lead Engineer – Mechanical Engineering

📋 Description

• Oversee a high-complexity caseload and offer troubleshooting support to address customer issues.

• Ensure that technical recommendations are robust, safe, and consistent with fleet reliability benchmarks.

• Assess turbine performance challenges utilizing knowledge of subsystem dynamics.

• Conduct thorough technical evaluations that consider comprehensive system interactions.

• Lead and perform technical investigations into recurring fleet-related problems.

• Recognize systemic failure trends and carry out root cause analyses.

• Create technical solutions that tackle the fundamental causes of performance decline.

• Analyze fleet data to uncover performance and reliability patterns.

• Formulate technical strategies or design enhancements to avert recurring problems and boost turbine availability.

• Serve as a technical liaison between site operations, product engineering, and services teams.

• Provide expert technical guidance to internal stakeholders.

• Maintain standards for technical documentation and communication.

• Offer informal guidance and technical mentorship to fellow engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• Strong and demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering, main bearings, lubrication systems, mechanical turbine systems, fleet support, or services engineering.

• Expert-level knowledge of turbine subsystem behavior, performance monitoring, and advanced troubleshooting techniques.

• Proven capability to conduct detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and transform technical data into actionable engineering solutions.

• Established ability to independently manage multiple complex technical challenges in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

• Strong analytical abilities with a talent for synthesizing data-driven insights into engineering recommendations.

• Excellent technical communication skills with the capability to articulate complex mechanical concepts to internal stakeholders and customers.

• Willingness to climb wind turbines and travel over 15% of the time.
