This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take charge of projects from the initial idea phase through to concept development and system demonstrations in both laboratory and field settings.
• Create prototype systems, including hardware, software, and innovative techniques for next-generation Electronic Warfare products.
• Provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary internal engineering teams as well as external partners.
• Collaborate closely with software, FPGA, and hardware engineers to develop advanced prototype systems and techniques up to Technology Readiness Level 6.
• Mentor junior engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Contribute to process and quality improvement initiatives.
• Identify suitable technologies for the development of new products.
• Serve as the technical lead on designated Concept Development tasks.
• Ensure that tasks achieve laboratory and field demonstration milestones or halt projects that cannot be completed within budget and on time.
• Organize and coordinate project reviews.
• Provide technical support to various company departments, suppliers, and partners.
• Review and manage issues using Jira.
• Ensure that design documentation is created and maintained in Confluence.
• Transfer successful prototype designs to the R&D Product Development team for further development beyond Technology Readiness Level 6.
• Line-manage the R&D Concept Development team.
• Oversee daily tasks of allocated engineering staff.
• Develop Statements of Work and assign tasks to subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers involved in Concept Development projects.
• Perform additional reasonable tasks that support the company’s objectives.
• Have due consideration for PV Grading, F680, and Export Licence Controls.
• Adhere to Kirintec’s ISO standards.
• Proven experience as a Lead Engineer.
• Capability to take ownership of projects from concept generation through to laboratory and field demonstrations.
• Ability to manage your own workload while being a contributing member of a small, dynamic team.
• Proficiency in providing technical leadership and oversight to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience or capability in software, FPGA, and hardware engineering.
• Capacity to mentor less experienced engineers.
• Skill in identifying appropriate technologies for new product development.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence platforms.
• Ability to create Statements of Work and manage tasks for subcontractors and suppliers.
• Proficient in managing subcontractors and suppliers effectively.
• Due consideration for PV Grading, F680, and Export Licence Controls.
• Competence in adhering to Kirintec’s ISO standards.
