This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Execute ECAD layouts for medium-complexity PCB designs, comprising multilayer boards, controlled routing, and structured component placement.
• Generate fabrication and assembly documentation utilizing outputs from Blueprint, DxDesigner, and adhering to standard release processes.
• Construct, modify, and sustain schematic symbols and footprints under the guidance of senior designers.
• Maintain high standards of documentation quality, data integrity, and compliance with ECAD standards.
• Oversee the accuracy and completeness of all ECAD design tasks assigned.
• Conduct light checking or peer reviews of layouts and documentation produced by junior-level designers.
• Detect errors, omissions, and manufacturability issues in the early stages of design.
• Engage in cross-functional discussions with design engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to clarify requirements or resolve minor design challenges.
• Effectively communicate with engineers and internal stakeholders to ensure design intent and documentation precision.
• Mentor junior-level designers on tool utilization, documentation methods, and workflow fundamentals.
• Foster good design practices, maintain clean data, and encourage adherence to standard processes within the team.
• Assist in team training and onboarding efforts by sharing techniques and exemplars.
• Utilize semi-advanced skills in Xpedition layout, DxDesigner schematic capture, Blueprint documentation, and standard ECAD workflows.
• Embrace new techniques and tools as necessary to enhance layout efficiency or documentation uniformity.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to ECAD documentation and library usage.
• Generally requires an AA/AS degree (or equivalent 2-year post-secondary education) along with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in generating fabrication and assembly documentation within Blueprint.
• Knowledgeable in multilayer PCB design principles, routing structures, component placement strategies, and fundamental signal integrity considerations.
• Strong understanding of IPC-based design and acceptance standards.
• Proven ability to create accurate, complete, and well-organized ECAD documentation.
• Experience in conducting light checks or assisting senior team members with design reviews.
