This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Execute ECAD layouts for medium-complexity PCB designs, which include multilayer boards, controlled routing, and structured component placement.
• Generate fabrication and assembly documentation utilizing Blueprint, DxDesigner outputs, and standard release procedures.
• Create, modify, and sustain schematic symbols and footprints with guidance from senior designers.
• Ensure documentation quality, data integrity, and adherence to ECAD standards.
• Conduct light checking or peer reviews of layouts and documentation for junior-level designers.
• Detect errors, omissions, and manufacturability issues during the early design phases.
• Engage in cross-functional discussions with design engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to clarify requirements or address minor design challenges.
• Effectively communicate with engineers and internal stakeholders to guarantee design intent and documentation precision.
• Mentor junior-level designers on tool utilization, documentation techniques, and workflow fundamentals.
• Advocate for good design practices, clean data, and adherence to standard processes within the team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives regarding ECAD documentation and library utilization.
• Generally requires an AA/AS degree (or equivalent 2-year post high school training) along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in generating fabrication and assembly documentation in Blueprint.
• Familiarity with multilayer PCB design principles, routing frameworks, component placement techniques, and basic signal integrity considerations.
• Strong understanding of IPC-based design and acceptance standards.
• Demonstrated ability to create precise, complete, and well-structured ECAD documentation.
• Experience in performing light checking or assisting senior team members with design reviews.
