Lead, DevSecOps Application Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop comprehensive microservice architectures that prioritize DevSecOps integration.

• Take ownership of the technical direction, architectural strategy, and roadmap for enterprise DevSecOps application platforms.

• Emphasize secure software engineering, application security posture, developer experience, and CI/CD security orchestration.

• Act as a technical authority for the DevSecOps Engineering team.

• Collaborate with stakeholders from Enterprise Information Protection, architecture, engineering, platform, and application development.

• Establish security requirements and integrate security controls into both current and future application architectures.

• Create secure, scalable, cloud-native application platforms.

• Aid in the selection of security tools, security testing, process automation, and configuration of Humana tools, applications, and systems.

• Facilitate architecture discussions and document technical decisions.

• Influence cross-functional stakeholders and address complex technical issues.

• Support platform modernization, reduction of technical debt, deprecation of legacy systems, release gating, deployment controls, observability, developer platforms, and enterprise application security platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and over 8 years of technical experience, or equivalent experience.

• More than 4 years of experience in project leadership, architecture leadership, or technical leadership.

• Strong software engineering foundation with practical application development experience.

• Advanced skills in .NET / C# application development.

• Proficient in Python for automation, scripting, or backend development.

• Experience in designing and leading architectures based on microservices.

• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure application services, such as Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, or Azure storage and data services.

• Familiarity with API architecture, REST API design, and API gateway patterns, ideally including Apigee.

• Experience in integrating security, quality, or compliance controls into CI/CD pipelines.

• Availability for on-call rotation.

• Practical experience with GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps.

• Background in infrastructure as code, preferably with Terraform.

• Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration concepts, including Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

• Knowledge of application security principles, secure coding practices, and software supply chain security.

• Capability to lead architecture discussions, document technical decisions, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and resolve complex technical issues.

• Home internet connection with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed.

• A designated workspace free from ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.

• Preferred experience with SAST, DAST, SCA, open-source dependency scanning, Checkmarx, AppScan, Cycode, SonarQube, SecAPI, JFrog Artifactory, Xray, HashiCorp Vault, LaunchDarkly, Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Splunk, and Dynatrace.

• Preferred experience with platform modernization, technical debt reduction, deprecation of legacy systems, release gating, deployment controls, developer platforms, application security platforms, clean code practices, pull request standards, pipeline-as-code, and automated quality gates.
