This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, provision, and manage all product environments, including database tiers, utilizing infrastructure as code.
• Take ownership of and enhance existing CI/CD pipelines while creating new pipelines for green-field projects spanning commit-to-production environments.
• Assign pipeline tasks as the team expands.
• Oversee database operations encompassing backup/recovery, availability, capacity, and patching.
• Develop automation for compliance reporting and infrastructure-layer access controls, ensuring least privilege, break-glass access, safe analyst read paths, and audit support.
• Establish CloudWatch observability to empower service-owning teams in troubleshooting their systems.
• Coordinate releases and ensure environment readiness across both internal and external vendor development teams.
• Define documentation standards for runbooks and infrastructure documentation, while automating documentation upkeep.
• Guide and mentor engineers, acting as the senior escalation point for production incidents.
• Collaborate with application engineers to gather requirements and address environment and data constraints from the outset.
• Over 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform roles.
• More than 2 years of experience leading the efforts of other engineers.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS.
• Significant hands-on experience with Terraform or a similar infrastructure as code tool.
• Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD processes.
• Familiarity with containers on ECS/Fargate and ECR, or comparable container orchestration experience.
• Working knowledge of relational database operations, including backup/recovery, availability, and capacity management.
• Experience with SQL Server, Postgres, or equivalent managed databases.
• Practical compliance experience, such as SOC 2 or similar, within a regulated industry.
• Sound judgment in regulated industries.
• Experience in the legal industry is a plus, though not a requirement.
• Deep DBA specialization is not a necessity.
• Data modeling or data warehouse experience is not required.
