Lead Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement statistical, machine learning, forecasting, optimization, and predictive models.

• Utilize regression, classification, clustering, time series analysis, anomaly detection, and various quantitative techniques.

• Convert business challenges into scalable analytical solutions that yield measurable business results.

• Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, opportunities, and risks.

• Evaluate data quality, completeness, and appropriateness for analytical and modeling projects.

• Create, develop, and validate features to enhance model performance and business relevance.

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of data science solutions, from problem identification and model creation to deployment and continuous optimization.

• Assess model performance, accuracy, stability, reliability, and business impact.

• Collaborate with engineering and technology teams to implement and operationalize models within the organization.

• Work alongside business leaders and stakeholders to establish objectives, key metrics, constraints, and success criteria.

• Identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities where data science can enhance business performance.

• Convey analytical insights, recommendations, assumptions, and risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ensure that solutions are actionable, interpretable, and aligned with business needs and strategic goals.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative discipline is required.

• An advanced degree in a quantitative field is preferred.

• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in data science, machine learning, advanced analytics, or a relevant field.

• Proven experience in developing, deploying, and supporting predictive and machine learning models in production settings.

• Experience in leading complex analytical projects from problem definition to successful adoption.

• Strong proficiency in Python and/or R for modeling and high-quality production code.

• Excellent SQL skills for data exploration and dataset development.

• Experience with forecasting, optimization, pricing, customer analytics, operational analytics, or similar business applications.

• Familiarity with generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and emerging AI technologies.

• Experience in cross-functional environments collaborating with engineering, analytics, and business teams.

• Ability to articulate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
