This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Spearhead the design and execution of sophisticated predictive models utilizing statistical and machine learning methodologies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data science teams.
• Manage the complete model lifecycle, from research and development through to deployment in production systems.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Product, Sales, and Leadership to transform business requirements into analytical solutions.
• Advocate for best practices in model development, validation, and ongoing maintenance.
• Direct the technical strategy for essential data products utilized by prominent financial institutions throughout the UK.
• Contribute to the establishment of a new data platform.
• Typically possess 8+ years of experience in developing and implementing impactful machine learning models within a commercial setting.
• Advanced knowledge in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and ensemble techniques such as Gradient Boosted Trees and Random Forests.
• High competency in Python for data science, including libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-Learn, and XGBoost/LightGBM.
• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Experience handling large, complex, and occasionally messy datasets.
• Demonstrated capability to serve as a senior technical advisor, mentor fellow data scientists, and steer the technical direction of intricate projects.
• Ability to convey complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders and influence strategic choices.
• Experience with geospatial data is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Background in PropTech, FinTech, or the financial services/lending sector is preferred.
• Practical experience in developing or deploying Automated Valuation Models is advantageous.
• Familiarity with model validation, performance benchmarking, and compliance metrics in a regulated environment is desirable.
