This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and execute data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Partner with data stewards, IT departments, and business units to develop governance frameworks and best practices.
• Oversee and enforce governance policies while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Perform data quality evaluations and implement data cleansing initiatives.
• Identify and resolve data-related challenges, assisting data stewards and business stakeholders.
• Define the organization's data domains and subdomains in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Appoint data owners and data stewards across various domains and subdomains.
• Design and provide training on data governance policies and best practices.
• Facilitate data governance committee meetings and working groups.
• Maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, data lineage, and other governance documentation.
• Assess and recommend data governance tools and technologies.
• Report on data governance activities, metrics, and compliance status to senior management.
• Mentor and guide less experienced professional contributors.
• Supervise 2–3 direct reports, including Data Governance Analysts.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or equivalent is required.
• A combination of education and experience may be acceptable in place of the Bachelor’s degree.
• Preferred: Master's Degree in a related field or equivalent.
• At least seven years of experience in data governance, data management, or similar roles.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Strong understanding of data management principles, data quality, data security, and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with data catalogs, metadata management, and data lineage tools.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and manage multiple priorities.
• Adaptability to changing requirements and the ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and team-building abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications.
• Capability to learn new tasks, retain processes, maintain focus, complete tasks autonomously, and make timely workflow decisions.
• Competence in operating standard office equipment and keyboards.
• Ability to accurately perceive and interpret visual and auditory information.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday during business hours.
