Lead Customer Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Evaluate customer requirements and requests for quotations (RFQs) to propose substation automation, protection, control, Telecom, and M&D products, services, and solutions.

• Ensure that proposals comply with technical specifications and tender requirements.

• Identify and highlight key risks, ensuring that mitigation plans are documented in the Risk & Opportunity register.

• Oversee and implement Return of Experience (ROE).

• Align proposals with commercial and execution strategies.

• Acquire technical derogations and approvals when necessary.

• Conduct site assessments for brownfield and existing substations.

• Maintain standard circuits, schemes, and solutions within the tendering tool.

• Adhere to technical and commercial offer timelines while ensuring high bid quality.

• Review and address technical clarifications in bids and present solutions to clients.

• Assist in order booking as per signed contracts or purchase orders, safeguarding budget margins, and enhancing the operations turnover process.

• Support the Sales team during commercial and technical customer meetings and negotiations.

• Manage the entire bid phases in accordance with company policies and guidelines.

• Conduct internal tender reviews with stakeholders based on tender deadlines.

• Facilitate transfer meetings and provide relevant documentation to Operations.

• Monitor and maintain tendering hit rate, submission percentage, and win rate.

• Review and analyze cost and pricing preparation and calculations.

• Obtain formal quotes from third-party products/systems and update the tendering tool accordingly.

• Ensure accurate costing in the estimation tool.

• Challenge costs related to products, solutions, and delivery, and perform commercial/technical win-loss analysis.

⛳️ Requirements

• B.S. degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience in tendering, commercial, or engineering roles.

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Grid Automation sector.

• Expertise in protection and DCS/SCS is mandatory.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Willingness to reside in Istanbul, Kocaeli, or Pakistan.

• Openness to international travel of 10–15%.

• Knowledge of Telecom and M&D is an advantage.

• Familiarity with MENAT customer requirements and specifications.

• Comfortable working in hybrid conditions.

• Understanding of commercial contracting guidelines.

• Proactive mindset with exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.

• Proficiency in French, Arabic, or Turkish is a plus.
