Lead Consultant, SQL Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the administration, performance, availability, and security of essential database environments.

• Oversee the administration and support of enterprise database platforms such as SQL Server, MongoDB, MySQL/MariaDB, and PostgreSQL.

• Handle database installations, upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and capacity planning.

• Monitor the health of platforms and proactively enhance performance, reliability, and availability.

• Lead incident resolution, problem management, and initiatives for operational excellence.

• Implement and uphold high-availability and disaster recovery strategies.

• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to design and refine database architectures.

• Enhance database security, access controls, and governance practices.

• Create automation, monitoring solutions, and operational processes that foster scalability and efficiency.

• Assist in cloud and platform modernization initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Over 8 years of progressive experience in database administration with Microsoft SQL Server.

• At least 2 years of hands-on DBA experience with MongoDB, MySQL, or MariaDB.

• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating with various teams.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• A strong commitment to continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence.

• A desire to learn and adapt in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
