This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Design, develop, implement, and sustain secure infrastructure and security architectures, facilitating access to both on-premise and cloud applications.
• Engineer and resolve issues related to Software Defined Networking by integrating Netskope and Cisco platforms.
• Create and execute Zero Trust cloud security architectures, which include identity-centric access controls, segmentation, and ZTNA.
• Design and deploy SASE/SSE capabilities, incorporating SWG, Cloud Firewall, Private Access, and DLP.
• Incorporate cloud security controls into DevSecOps and automated deployment processes.
• Generate architecture documentation, design documentation, implementation plans, test plans, standard operating procedures, and other engineering artifacts.
• Convert cybersecurity policies, security controls, and compliance requirements into technical solutions.
• Diagnose intricate cloud, network, security, and application connectivity challenges.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, cloud, application, and infrastructure teams to address security and architectural concerns.
• Lead technical evaluations, proof-of-concepts, pilots, testing, and phased enterprise rollouts.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and other technical staff.
• Act as a senior technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for customers, program leadership, security stakeholders, and engineering teams.
• BS degree and over 14 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, cloud engineering, proxy, network security, security architecture, or a closely related discipline.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust that requires U.S. Citizenship.
• More than 5 years of practical experience with Netskope/Blue Coat/Zscaler in designing, implementing, or securing cloud environments.
• Prior experience as a Security Architect, Cloud Architect, Network Architect, or Network Engineering Lead, with responsibilities for designing and implementing secure enterprise infrastructure in complex settings.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust security architectures and/or ZTNA.
• Knowledge of cloud networking and security, including VPCs, network segmentation, routing, firewalls, and secure connectivity.
• Experience in translating cybersecurity requirements into technical architecture and engineering solutions.
• Proven ability to produce technical architecture and engineering documentation.
• Proficient in troubleshooting complex cloud and network security challenges.
• Experience in providing technical leadership to engineering teams and acting as a customer-facing technical SME.
• Skilled in leading technical pilots, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and phased deployments.
• Preferred: Experience supporting the U.S. Department of Defense or large federal civilian environments.
• Preferred: Experience in developing or implementing security automation and/or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Preferred: Certified Netskope Engineer.
• Preferred: Cisco Certified Network Associate or higher.
• Preferred: Experience with enterprise-scale cloud security deployments, federal security frameworks, monitoring tools, container technologies, and automated troubleshooting or security operations workflows.
