Lead Cloud Architect – AWS, System Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance large-scale cloud architectures primarily utilizing AWS.

• Convert business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable solution designs.

• Establish architecture standards, best practices, and governance frameworks across various teams.

• Develop both high-level and low-level designs encompassing applications, infrastructure, networking, APIs, and cloud services.

• Create integration patterns, API strategies, authentication mechanisms, and security models.

• Lead initiatives for cloud transformation and modernization.

• Oversee the implementation of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

• Ensure architectural consistency, scalability, security, performance, and operational excellence across cloud platforms.

• Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical leadership on intricate solution design decisions.

• Assist in technical roadmap planning and technology assessments.

• Mentor engineers and offer architectural guidance across development, platform, and DevOps teams.

• Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and customers to guarantee successful solution delivery and adoption.

• Review automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering practices to promote DevOps excellence.

• Serve as a trusted advisor, offering technical direction across multiple projects and product teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in designing and governing complex cloud solutions within extensive enterprise environments.

• In-depth expertise in AWS.

• Practical experience utilizing Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.

• Capability in designing comprehensive solutions that encompass applications, infrastructure, networking, security, APIs, and data platforms.

• Familiarity with enterprise and solution architecture principles, cloud-native design patterns, and modern distributed systems.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, API Security, OAuth, SSO, Microservices, and Micro Frontend architectures.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, as well as relational and NoSQL databases.

• DevOps experience, including CI/CD automation and configuration management using GitLab.

• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.

• Experience in developing automation workflows, AWS Lambda functions, and system integrations.

• Knowledge of Linux and Windows administration.

• Understanding of Cloud Security best practices, cloud networking, observability, and monitoring.

• Experience using CloudWatch and Datadog or comparable platforms.

• Exceptional communication skills in English.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Jenkins is advantageous.

• Experience with OpenShift, ArgoCD, multi-cloud environments, enterprise cloud transformation programs, customer-facing architecture or consulting engagements, platform engineering, principal engineering, DevOps leadership, and AI-assisted engineering tools is a plus.
