Law Clerk

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Perform legal research pertinent to ongoing cases

• Compile case documentation

• Draft research memos, pleadings, and motions under the guidance of an attorney

• Evaluate legal matters and identify applicable defenses, relevant arguments, and litigation strategies

• Create briefs, legal memoranda, or issue statements accompanied by recommendations

• Review submitted complaints, petitions, and motions

• Prepare responsive pleadings and legal correspondence

• Assist trial attorneys in preparing trial, mediation, and arbitration documents and binders

• Attend court sessions, depositions, mediations, and trials to record essential case information

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree is mandatory

• Must be a second or third-year law student

• Demonstrated interest in civil litigation, personal injury, or insurance defense

• Preferred candidates will possess some experience in drafting motions

• Availability of approximately 20 hours per week during the academic semester

• Capability to conduct legal research and analyze legal issues effectively

• Proficient in preparing briefs, legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and correspondence

• Ability to assist with trial, mediation, and arbitration documentation and binders

• Willingness to attend court sessions, depositions, mediations, and trials

• Ability to operate a computer continuously for extended periods

• Physical capacity to sit or stand for long durations and occasionally lift 0–10 pounds
