Latam Spanish Language Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage the final quality of assigned translations.

• Administer language assets, which include translation memories, terminology, and style guides.

• Occasionally carry out initial translations, revisions, and implement client feedback.

• Conduct quality checks on clinical translations, such as ICFs, protocols, IBs, and patient diaries.

• Create and sustain terminology and style guides for Spanish Latin American.

• Ensure that Spanish Latin American translation memories are kept up to date.

• Establish and implement linguistic quality assurance processes for the designated language globally as needed.

• Utilize CAT technology to oversee the quality of outsourced language translations and external suppliers.

• Evaluate language quality issues and collaborate with the project management team on quality improvement plans.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in translation, linguistics, or language studies with substantial translation studies from a recognized higher education institution.

• OR a bachelor's degree in another discipline along with 2 years of translation experience, preferably in medical translation.

• Native language: Spanish – any variant from Latin America.

• Experience with CAT/TMS tools is required.

• Proven experience with terminology and translation memory is necessary.

• Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage time effectively, stay organized, and pay attention to detail.

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

• Experience in medical device translation is a plus.
