Laser Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Travel to client sites to diagnose intricate technical issues and conduct on-site repairs.

• Inspect machines both mechanically and electrically to carry out repairs, which may include disassembling and reassembling machines as necessary.

• Identify technical issues and provide troubleshooting assistance via telephone.

• Communicate in a professional and effective manner with customers.

• Analyze and troubleshoot problems by interpreting schematics and block diagrams.

• Document product issues and resolutions thoroughly.

• Repair, troubleshoot, modify, and test complex technical issues related to Mitsubishi Machining products.

• Provide services on-site at customer facilities or via telephone when appropriate.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient understanding of machining and manufacturing processes.

• Capability to utilize basic hand tools.

• Competence in operating a computer with Windows operating systems.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Comfortable working at heights.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

• Experience with electrical measurement and inspection techniques, including the use of voltmeters and oscilloscopes.

• Background in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues, such as ball screws, bearings, gearing, and way systems.

• Familiarity with mechanical measurement and inspection methods, including indicators, micrometers, gage blocks, and optical comparators.

• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

• Strong visual and color acuity.

• Willingness to travel Monday through Friday, primarily across the US, with potential for international travel.

• Capacity to work in proximity to moving mechanical components and in environments with moderate to loud noise levels.

• Ability to perform frequent bending, twisting, standing, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

• An associate’s or technical degree is preferred.

• Experience with laser interferometers and ball bars is an added advantage.
