
L2/L3 Linux Technical Support Engineer – Web Hosting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Georgia.
• Manage and uphold GNU/Linux operating systems and virtualized/containerized environments such as OpenVZ, KVM, and Docker.
• Deploy, oversee, and resolve issues with cPanel/WHM and Plesk in shared hosting settings.
• Diagnose and enhance web applications utilizing WordPress, Laravel, PHP, Node.js, and Python technologies.
• Set up and maintain network protocols, firewalls, and WAFs including ModSecurity and Imunify360.
• Detect, respond to, and alleviate security incidents such as malware, phishing, and DoS attacks.
• Troubleshoot email flow and deliverability issues using Exim, Dovecot, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and external mail relays.
• Monitor services and optimize performance across Apache, Nginx, LiteSpeed, MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
• Assist in migrating hosting accounts, virtual machines, and mail systems.
• Support disaster recovery, backups, failovers, caching, and CDN strategies.
• Work together with the technical team to resolve complex client support challenges.
• Multiple years of practical experience in the web hosting sector, focusing on both technical support and system administration.
• High-level proficiency in Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Windows Server environments, including IIS and MSSQL.
• Comprehensive understanding of cPanel/WHM, CloudLinux (LVE, CageFS, Selectors), PHP configuration, and shared hosting limitations.
• Established expertise in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Apache, Nginx, LiteSpeed, and other HTTP web servers.
• Strong understanding of web server mechanics, relational and NoSQL databases, and server-level debugging of intricate web applications.
• Solid grasp of TCP/IP, DNS, and network protocols.
• Capability to handle escalated support tickets and work collaboratively with peers to offer tailored technical solutions.
• Proficiency in Bash scripting, Python utilities, and Ansible playbooks is a plus.
• Experience with WHMCS backend architecture and custom module integrations is advantageous.
• Familiarity with high-density enterprise server architectures and extensive account consolidation workflows is beneficial.
• Professional proficiency in English is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in the web hosting industry.
