L2 Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sri Lanka.

📋 Description

• Execute network and security projects utilizing the Cisco portfolio, including Meraki and Catalyst environments.

• Design, implement, and provide support for routing and switching, wireless, SD-WAN, and security solutions.

• Oversee support queues and manage incidents until they are fully resolved.

• Diagnose customer network environments and deliver business-as-usual operational support.

• Establish and nurture customer relationships through effective and professional communication.

• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance documentation, troubleshooting guides, and operational standards.

• Utilize AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, and similar platforms to streamline daily workflows.

• Participate in automation and AI initiatives, including API integrations, tooling, and workflow enhancements.

• Create reusable troubleshooting and operational documentation for both customers and internal teams.

• Contribute to customer satisfaction, project execution, operational enhancements, automation efforts, and overall team capability development.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in network engineering or support roles.

• Prior experience in an Australian MSP environment.

• Comprehensive knowledge of networking principles across routing and switching, wireless, SD-WAN, and security technologies.

• Practical experience with Cisco technologies, specifically Cisco Meraki and Catalyst solutions.

• Proven ability to design, implement, configure, and support network solutions in customer environments.

• CCNA certification.

• Capacity to work independently, take ownership of technical challenges, and deliver solutions with minimal oversight.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong skills in prioritization and time management.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Practical problem-solving approach.

• Comfort in dynamic environments characterized by ambiguity and shifting priorities.

• Proactive in internal communication and collaboration efforts.

• CCNP certification or equivalent (preferred).

• Cisco certifications such as DevNet Associate or other relevant credentials (preferred).

• Familiarity with Python, Ansible, REST APIs, Terraform, or Git (preferred).

• Exposure to AI tools and AI-assisted technical workflows (preferred).

• Experience with voice networking technologies (preferred).

• Understanding of infrastructure-as-code concepts and automation-first operational models (preferred).
