Kubernetes Platform Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Assist enterprise clients in the design, validation, and implementation of VMware Kubernetes Service (vKS) solutions on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).

• Work closely with field account teams to ensure that solution architecture meets customer priorities.

• Facilitate technical discovery sessions, workshops, and proof-of-concepts.

• Collaborate with sales to craft customer proposals that address modernization objectives, workload placement, and operational transformation.

• Offer insights on Kubernetes adoption, CI-CD integration, scalability, security, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Create and disseminate reference architectures, deployment patterns, and technical assets.

• Present technical information to architects and executive decision-makers.

• Keep abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and changing enterprise requirements.

• Work with product management and engineering to provide input that shapes the product roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in application engineering, consulting, or technical sales within enterprise IT, cloud, or application platforms.

• Strong knowledge of containers and a leading Kubernetes distribution (EKS, AKS, RH OCP/OPP, Rancher).

• Expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation, which includes vSphere, vSAN, and NSX.

• 8–10+ years of experience in technology-related positions, with a focus on enterprise IT architecture, application modernization, or cloud-native platforms.

• Documented success in working directly with enterprise customers to provide technical solutions and promote platform adoption.

• Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation abilities.

• Strong teamwork skills and capacity to collaborate with sales teams.

• Capability to identify challenges, devise solutions, and communicate value in business terms.

• Motivated self-starter with a sense of curiosity and determination.

• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

• Extensive knowledge of VMware products and Kubernetes platforms.

• Certifications in cloud-native or public cloud technologies are highly desirable.
