This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +7 more states.
β’ Act as the embedded expert and liaison for knowledge management within the practice group.
β’ Lead the curation of knowledge artifacts in the firm's knowledge management database.
β’ Formulate, execute, maintain, and evaluate knowledge management strategies and systems.
β’ Create and uphold model documents, forms, precedents, drafting guidance, and practice resources.
β’ Gather user feedback to enhance KM tools and processes, including iManage and the intranet.
β’ Review legal, market, and practical materials; monitor trends, best practices, and advancements in legal technology.
β’ Identify gaps in the knowledge base and curate contributions from attorneys.
β’ Plan and implement KM innovation projects, assess return on investment, and report on progress.
β’ Evaluate and adopt technologies that improve knowledge management and practice support.
β’ Advocate for technology adoption and organizational change.
β’ Identify training and knowledge needs alongside KM, AI, and Practice Management teams.
β’ Support lateral onboarding and evaluate incoming knowledge content.
β’ Conduct knowledge succession planning, including pre-departure and pre-retirement interviews.
β’ Collaborate with administrative departments on firm-wide KM initiatives.
β’ Create training materials and facilitate demonstrations, pilots, and sharing of success stories.
β’ Assess training effectiveness and suggest improvements.
β’ Uphold strict confidentiality regarding firm, attorney, and client information.
β’ Proven capability to develop, test, and deliver technology-driven tools and initiatives, including client-facing solutions.
β’ Experience with generative AI tools beyond casual usage, applying a skeptical and validation-oriented approach to AI output.
β’ Technical knowledge regarding the construction and evaluation of AI systems.
β’ Demonstrated discretion in managing confidential and sensitive information.
β’ Exceptional skills in written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal interactions.
β’ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
β’ Proven track record of working on cross-functional teams and facilitating organizational change.
β’ Strong organizational, time management, and project management capabilities.
β’ Commitment to professional development, continuous learning, and substantive legal education.
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
β’ In-depth knowledge of document management systems, such as iManage.
β’ Active bar membership in good standing.
β’ Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
β’ Minimum of five (5) years of law firm experience in relevant practice areas.
β’ Extensive expertise in Insurance + Reinsurance Litigation, Insurance Transactional + Regulatory, Intellectual Property, and Privacy + Cyber practice groups.
β’ Proven experience in knowledge management, legal research, and practice support.
β’ Familiarity with knowledge management tools and technologies, including databases, intranets, portals, search engines, and document management systems.
β’ Demonstrated experience with legal technology, project management, and business planning.
β’ Proficiency in legal research databases and knowledge management platforms.
