This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of clinical needs and demand within the infectious disease (ID) physician, pharmacist, and microbiology communities for targeted accounts.
• Advocate for the product within the designated geographical area by navigating the institutional formulary approval process and educating customers on the appropriate usage of the products.
• Analyze and utilize the access landscape to establish or enhance institutional product access through effective interactions with Pharmacy Directors, ID Pharmacists, ID Physicians, Microbiologists, and other key stakeholders.
• Consistently engage and educate physicians and other relevant parties within targeted institutions on the use of Shionogi’s anti-infective products via one-on-one meetings, presentations, professional education initiatives, and other suitable methods.
• Possess an in-depth understanding of hospital practices, including formulary management and pharmaceutical product reviews.
• Build and maintain professional relationships while ensuring effective communication networks with customers at various levels, including ID opinion leaders, key hospital medical personnel, pharmacies, and more.
• Create educational opportunities for products while enhancing Shionogi’s reputation and commitment to healthcare, collaborating closely with local and regional thought leaders and professional organizations.
• Ensure a high level of call and field productivity, with expectations to meet and exceed call plan goals, committing five full-time days in the field each week.
• Work alongside Regional Account Management, Market Access Leadership, Medical Affairs, and Marketing on all needs and opportunities, KOL interactions, and formulary adjustments.
• Identify and relay field issues, opportunities, and competitive activities through appropriate organizational channels.
• Meet formulary adoption targets within the territory while adhering to ethical market access practices and required regulations.
• Implement brand strategies to maintain a consistent marketing message for the company.
• Analyze territory data and insights to create and execute effective account plans, optimize routing, and make the most of field resources for achieving results.
• Responsible for accurately documenting field activities, territory expenses, and submitting necessary written reports by deadlines established by Shionogi management.
• Cultivate positive and engaging relationships with peers, customers, and company managers.
• Conduct Company business in compliance with all regulations (i.e., PDMA/Sample), as well as Company policies and procedures.
• A BS/BA degree is mandatory.
• Hospital-based pharmaceutical experience is essential.
• Proven experience in hospital or health system environments, particularly with anti-infective, critical care, or intravenous experience, is highly preferred.
• Must successfully complete all relevant training and achieve certification in product knowledge for the assigned product(s) within a reasonable timeframe.
• Strong understanding of the purchasing, ordering, and administration processes for hospital products, including knowledge of formulary processes and reimbursement policies.
• Ability to comprehend and navigate hospital systems to access key decision-makers effectively.
• Experience in building rapport and relationships within institutional settings to enhance awareness and utilization of products, making an immediate impact on healthcare professionals.
• A demonstrated track record of successfully facilitating educational programs.
• Ability to communicate clinical data effectively to showcase competence and convey a high level of scientific product information.
• Experience in launching hospital antibiotics successfully is an advantage.
• Proven success in securing hospital product formulary approvals through P&T (pharmacy and therapeutic committees) within the IV antibiotic or related category.
• Successful experience in coordinating account-related events.
• Business-to-business experience and/or a demonstrated ability to influence effectively.
