This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.
• Identify, assess, and advance key accounts that involve intricate political and regulatory challenges.
• Generate a pipeline within your designated territory, document your efforts in the company's CRM, and provide weekly updates on your progress.
• Maintain a data-driven forecast and report this information to Sales leadership on a weekly basis.
• Facilitate the sales cycle by engaging with gatekeepers and influencers in school districts and local government.
• Participate in account planning, deal strategy discussions, and proposal creation, ensuring that insights from government relations are integrated into sales initiatives.
• Assist in overcoming political and regulatory obstacles to finalize high-value sales opportunities.
• Collaborate with our Government Relations team to track and report the impact of government engagement on pipeline advancement and deal conversion.
• Develop and implement strategic go-to-market and government relations plans within the Southeast, concentrating on municipal and state-level initiatives.
• Establish and nurture robust relationships with key stakeholders, including: - Mayors, City Councilors, and other municipal officials - School Superintendents, School Boards, and Transportation Directors - Court personnel, Prosecutors, and Law Enforcement Agencies - State Legislators and their staff (including former Chiefs of Staff).
• Advocate for legislative and regulatory reforms that promote the use of AI-powered school bus safety technology.
• Conduct research and analysis on pertinent legislation, regulations, and policy matters.
• Represent BusPatrol at public hearings, conferences, and other relevant events.
• Develop and execute grassroots campaigns to elevate awareness about school bus safety issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Government Relations, Marketing, and Legal, to accomplish business objectives.
• Monitor and report on legislative and regulatory changes.
• 3-5 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or strategic partnerships/business development within a public sector framework.
• Experience as a member of or providing support to public sector sales teams or working in a B2G (business-to-government) context.
• Demonstrated experience engaging with elected officials at the municipal and/or state level.
• Experience with school districts, law enforcement agencies, and other relevant community stakeholders is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes in GA, FL, TN, and AL.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• A passion for public safety and a dedication to positively impacting children's lives.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field is preferred.
