This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Develop a clinical understanding and foster demand within the ID physician, pharmacist, and microbiology communities for designated accounts.
• Promote products within the geographical region by navigating the institutional formulary approval process and educating customers on their appropriate use.
• Comprehend and utilize the access landscape to establish or enhance institutional product access through effective engagement with Pharmacy Directors, ID Pharmacists, ID Physicians, Microbiologists, and other key stakeholders.
• Consistently engage and educate physicians and other stakeholders within targeted institutions on the use of Shionogi’s anti-infective products through one-on-one meetings, presentations, professional education programs, and other suitable methods.
• Possess extensive knowledge of hospital practices, including formulary management and pharmaceutical product evaluation.
• Build professional relationships and maintain an effective communication network with customers at various levels, including ID opinion leaders, key hospital medical staff, pharmacies, and more.
• Create opportunities for product education while enhancing Shionogi’s image and commitment to medicine, collaborating directly with local and regional thought leaders and professional societies.
• Responsible for maintaining a high level of call and field productivity; expected to meet and exceed call plan expectations, dedicating five full-time days in the field each week.
• Collaborate with Regional Account Management, Market Access Leadership, Medical Affairs, and Marketing on all needs and opportunities, KOL engagements, and formulary adjustments.
• Identify and report field issues, opportunities, and competitive activities through appropriate organizational channels.
• Meet formulary adoption objectives within the territory while adhering to all ethical market access practices and relevant regulations.
• Implement brand strategies to ensure a consistent company marketing message.
• Analyze territory insights to develop and execute effective account plans, optimize routing, and maximize field resources to achieve desired outcomes.
• Accountable for accurately documenting field activities, managing territory expenses, and submitting required reports by the deadlines established by Shionogi management.
• Cultivate positive and interactive relationships with peers, customers, and company managers.
• Conduct company business in compliance with all regulations (e.g., PDMA/Sample), as well as company policies and procedures.
• Exhibit high ethical and professional standards at all times.
• A BS/BA degree is required.
• Hospital-based pharmaceutical experience is mandatory.
• Proven experience in hospital or health system environments, particularly with anti-infective, critical care, or intravenous experience, is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of the purchasing, ordering, and administration of hospital products, including knowledge of the formulary process and reimbursement policies.
• Ability to navigate hospital systems to gain access to key decision-makers.
• Experience in building rapport and relationships within the institutional setting to increase awareness and utilization of products, making an immediate impact on healthcare professionals.
