This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Design and develop software functionalities utilizing Java or Kotlin, Spring Boot, and contemporary web technologies.
• Create RESTful APIs to support internal systems and integrations.
• Engage in front-end development employing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, or AngularJS.
• Produce clean, readable, and maintainable code.
• Query, structure, and manage data within relational and NoSQL databases.
• Ensure quality through unit, integration, and functional testing.
• Take part in code reviews and assist in defect resolution.
• Utilize Git, build tools, and CI/CD pipelines in daily development tasks.
• Collaborate with product teams, QA, design, DevOps, and fellow engineers.
• Implement engineering practices concerning security, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Assume ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to collective engineering best practices.
• Approximately 2 to 5 years of experience in software development, ideally within a commercial setting.
• Practical experience with Java or Kotlin and object-oriented programming principles.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot or comparable backend frameworks.
• Proficient understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of Git, collaborative development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automated delivery methods.
• Test-first mindset and eagerness to write and maintain automated tests.
• Capability to function effectively within an agile team and communicate clearly.
• Openness to learning, enhancing skills, and assuming greater technical responsibility.
• Experience or foundational knowledge of Spring Framework, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, or similar backend technologies.
• Comprehension of REST APIs and service-oriented development.
• Front-end experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ideally TypeScript.
• Familiarity with React, Angular, AngularJS, or Vue, modern front-end patterns, or legacy front-end modernization.
• Exposure to AWS or Azure, containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with or progression towards WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.
• Background in secure, regulated, or operationally sensitive environments.
• Eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance where necessary, including required residency and vetting conditions.
• Must possess the right to work in the UK.
• Must demonstrate an existing right to work and travel within the UK.
• Subject to successful vetting, references, and occupational health checks; a DBS check may also be necessary.
