Junior Software Engineering Program – Planning & Budget Associate Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +35 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance well-defined software features within established systems.

• Utilize engineering principles to analyze problems and assess solution alternatives with guidance.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in accordance with established best practices.

• Create and execute unit tests and basic functional tests.

• Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and technical problem-solving activities.

• Diagnose bugs and technical issues with growing independence.

• Employ modern development tools, version control, and testing frameworks.

• Document technical decisions and insights.

• Collaborate with engineers, product partners, and stakeholders to transform requirements into effective solutions.

• Pursue continuous learning and development of software engineering competencies.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Minor or experience in Finance, Accounting, or Bookkeeping.

• Proficiency in Java or Python.

• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software fundamentals.

• Experience with at least one programming language and version control systems such as Git.

• Familiarity with testing, build tools, and team workflows.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities, curiosity, and a strong desire to grow as an engineer.

• Applicants must currently have authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

• Candidates must reside in one of the eligible U.S. states specified.

• Exposure to Agile or iterative development methodologies is an advantage.

• Experience collaborating in shared codebases through coursework or projects is a plus.
