Junior Software Engineer – Security Release Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop software solutions and automation to enhance security and release engineering processes.

• Create integrations across developer platforms, version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and application security tools.

• Design and sustain APIs, scripts, and automation services that minimize manual tasks related to release, security, and compliance.

• Implement and oversee GitOps workflows that facilitate application and platform deployments in Kubernetes environments.

• Assist in secure software delivery, automated compliance validation, software supply chain security, and activities ensuring release readiness.

• Diagnose issues related to build, deployment, integration, and security pipelines.

• Work collaboratively with engineering, platform, architecture, and cybersecurity teams.

• Accept additional tasks and responsibilities as necessary to support team goals and project success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Practical experience in software development or automation using JavaScript and Python.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing Terraform.

• Knowledge of Secure Software Development Life Cycle (Secure SDLC) methodologies, DevSecOps principles, GitOps practices, and secure software delivery.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for resolving software build, deployment, integration, and security pipeline issues.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teams in software engineering, platform, architecture, and cybersecurity.

• Experience with CI/CD and developer tools such as GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Docker, and Kubernetes environments including AKS or EKS.

• Exposure to Java/Spring Boot, React.js, Azure, AWS, Kong API Gateway, Terraform, and Datadog.

• Familiarity with SAST design, software supply chain security, or tools like Fortify, Aqua Security, or Prisma Cloud.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Must successfully pass a background check.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including necessary fingerprinting when required.
