This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, create, and enhance computer application software and specialized utility programs.
• Develop microservices within a cloud-native setting.
• Manage an enterprise-scale production system.
• Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve system-related issues.
• Assess user requirements and create robust software solutions that align with business and mission objectives.
• Design and analyze databases within a specific application area.
• Utilize principles of computer science, engineering, mathematical analysis, and distributed-systems design.
• Engage in code reviews, pair programming, and mentor junior developers.
• Collaborate with teams from DevOps, QA, Security, Product, and Architecture.
• Transition existing system functionalities from mainframes to AWS GovCloud.
• Shift investigative search functionalities to Elasticsearch or similar technologies.
• Create scalable cloud-native microservices on OpenShift-based container platforms.
• Implement full-stack components and UI integration layers utilizing contemporary JavaScript frameworks.
• Support event-driven architectures and systems with high-throughput data processing capabilities.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule once every four weeks.
• Acknowledge on-call notifications within 15 minutes.
• Start assessing or troubleshooting on-call requests within 60 minutes of notification.
• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 3 years of professional experience OR an Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Active Tier 3 Secret clearance or higher.
• Strong expertise in Java and object-oriented programming.
• Experience in developing microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native applications.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and automated deployment processes.
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and managing solutions on AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and at least two of the following: Apache Kafka, Pub/Sub patterns, streaming, and event sourcing.
• Experience operating under GitOps practices, including GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or ArgoCD.
• Background in Agile frameworks, including Scrum/SAFe methodologies.
• Knowledge of Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
• Ability to support a rotating on-call schedule once every four weeks.
• Commitment to acknowledge on-call notifications within 15 minutes.
• Capability to remain reasonably accessible to a secure work laptop while on call.
• Ability to commence assessment or troubleshooting of requests within 60 minutes of being notified.
• U.S. citizenship or eligibility for permanent residency is indicated by the clearance application question: “US CITIZENS & PERM RESIDENTS ONLY.”
