Junior Scrum Master

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Facilitate essential Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.

• Assist the team in maintaining and updating the sprint backlog, burndown/burnup charts, and other agile metrics such as velocity and cycle time.

• Support the Product Owner during backlog refinement sessions.

• Identify and assist in removing obstacles that hinder the team’s progress, escalating issues when necessary.

• Advocate for Agile/Scrum values, principles, and best practices within the team.

• Monitor and communicate sprint progress to stakeholders.

• Maintain agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello) to ensure boards and reports remain accurate and current.

• Cultivate a collaborative, respectful, and continuous-improvement culture within the team.

• Aid in coordinating cross-team dependencies when necessary.

• Continuously learn and apply agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe basics) with guidance from mentors.

⛳️ Requirements

• 0.5–2 years of experience in a Scrum Master, coordinator, or similar support role (internships or academic project experience is considered) managing multiple projects.

• Fundamental understanding of Agile/Scrum principles and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Preferred, but not always mandatory: Scrum Master certification (or in progress) such as CSM (Certified ScrumMaster), PSM I (Professional Scrum Master I), or an equivalent.

• Strong communication skills in English (B2 or higher) and Spanish.

• Familiarity with agile project management tools (Jira, Trello, Azure DevOps, or similar).

• Good organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.

• A Bachelor’s degree in progress or completed (in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field) — or equivalent practical experience.

• Nice to Have: Exposure to Kanban or SAFe concepts.

• Experience in supporting technical/software development teams.

• Basic knowledge of metrics and reporting (velocity, burndown, lead time).

• Previous involvement in agile transformation initiatives.
