Junior Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Deliver legal assistance to the in-house legal team across various jurisdictions in EMEA.

• Provide guidance to internal teams and manage legal requests, offering practical advice on simple matters while escalating complex or high-risk issues.

• Collaborate with senior counsel on intricate or novel legal matters and projects under supervision.

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs, and related agreements, including in German.

• Monitor contracts, renewals, and corporate filings across multiple jurisdictions using trackers and dashboards.

• Liaise with internal stakeholders to collect facts, documents, and timelines, and ensure follow-up on outstanding information.

• Offer practical legal insights to commercial, finance, and operational teams.

• Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, case law, and industry guidance, providing structured practical advice.

• Enhance contract templates, clause libraries, and negotiation playbooks.

• Assist with corporate records, statutory registers, resolutions, filings, board materials, annual compliance tasks, KYC, and due-diligence requests.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience as a lawyer, preferably in commercial or corporate legal practice, within an international in-house team and/or a law firm.

• Proven ability in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and redlining contracts, including NDAs, commercial agreements, and other legal documents, in both English and German.

• Business fluency in German, capable of advising, negotiating, and drafting in both German and English.

• Strong project management skills, with the capability to handle a high volume of contracts and contribute to strategic legal initiatives.

• Demonstrated ability to conduct legal research and translate findings into clear, practical advice for internal stakeholders.

• Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to efficiently prioritize competing deadlines.

• Ability to independently advise on straightforward matters and effectively collaborate with senior counsel on complex issues, within a fast-paced, cross-border team environment.

• Experience in maintaining and enhancing document templates, clause libraries, and standard forms.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify issues early, escalate appropriately, and propose practical solutions.
