This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement internal AI-driven applications and automation tools across various platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, Azure, and/or Anthropic/OpenAI APIs.
• Create external-facing applications, such as chatbots, customized to meet client requirements, delivering AI-driven solutions that effectively support public health initiatives and government operations.
• Design tools that gather, consolidate, and analyze data from existing sources, automating processes intelligently to replace manual tasks.
• Design and execute retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines to enhance intelligent, context-aware internal tools.
• Explore and integrate large language models (LLMs), AI agents, and new frameworks to address operational and public health issues.
• Develop lightweight internal applications and dashboards using tools like AppScript or equivalent.
• Collaborate with the AI Committee Lead to convert client or end-user public health requirements into specific technical needs and measurable AI solutions.
• Clearly communicate technical workflows and concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Work closely with the AI Committee and program teams to identify and prioritize opportunities with significant impact.
• Report findings, recommendations, and project progress to leadership and relevant project teams.
• Investigate emerging AI models and platforms to help select the most suitable tools for particular use cases.
• Establish testing and quality assurance processes to guarantee AI accuracy and dependability.
• Oversee the performance, cost, and reliability of deployed AI models and systems, making optimizations when necessary.
• Create and sustain documentation and best practices across AI tools.
• A Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of relevant experience are required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• A minimum of 1+ years of internship-level, coursework-related, or professional experience in building AI/ML applications or similar software engineering roles.
• Proficient in Python (or a similar programming language).
• Demonstrated experience in designing and executing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.
• Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Familiarity with vector databases, including open-source solutions and cloud-native vector search options.
• Experience working with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, etc.).
• Knowledge of Google AppScript or similar automation tools.
• Experience in testing LLM outputs for accuracy, reliability, and performance.
• Excellent communication skills when engaging with non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a fast-paced remote consulting environment.
