This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Evaluate and curate incoming submissions based on Stocksy's editorial, technical, and commercial criteria.
• Accept, reject, or return submissions with clear, well-reasoned feedback to help contributors understand the criteria for inclusion in this collection.
• Assess submissions for legal compliance, including releases, copyright issues, and any factors that could pose risks for the brands utilizing our work.
• Share your editorial decisions with the team openly, engage in discussions of edge cases, and remain open to having your perspectives challenged.
• Identify gaps in the collection, emerging trends, and editorial opportunities observed throughout the submission queue.
• Assist contributors in developing more robust, consistent, and commercially relevant portfolios over time.
• Ensure metadata quality across all reviewed assets.
• Participate in team discussions regarding collection standards, review processes, and maintaining clarity and consistency in our editorial approach.
• Proven experience in photo editing, curation, or a similar visual content role, whether through employment, freelance work, or as a practicing artist.
• A keen eye for both aesthetic and technical image quality.
• Experience in providing constructive feedback to photographers or other creatives.
• Familiarity with the stock photography or visual media landscape.
• Strong attention to detail, especially concerning metadata, releases, and content standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload in a remote setting, with experience using project management software preferred.
• Experience in leveraging AI tools to enhance the efficiency of your curation work, whether in research, analysis, or workflow management.
• Understanding that editorial judgment, taste, and the ability to discern what fits in this collection cannot be outsourced.
• A curious approach to new tools rather than a fearful one.
