This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• In this role, you will report to the Regional Director - UK & Ireland and assist in driving new business development throughout the South East, encompassing Central London and the Home Counties.
• As a junior commercial team member, you will not be required to possess all knowledge from the outset.
• You will receive mentorship from seasoned sales and technical professionals while learning to identify opportunities, assess customer needs, and advance sales discussions.
• This position is ideal for a proactive and inquisitive individual who feels at ease communicating with customers, contractors, and partners.
• You will contribute to building a pipeline of opportunities, follow up on inquiries, arrange meetings, and gradually assume responsibility for smaller opportunities as your confidence and experience develop.
• Technical assistance will be provided for product selection, solution design, and customer engagements.
• Conduct research to discover potential new customers, projects, and contacts within the South East region.
• Aid in the creation of a prospect list, pipeline, and straightforward territory plan.
• Follow up on internal inquiries and help determine whether opportunities are suitable for Gunnebo.
• Schedule and participate in customer meetings, initially with support from senior sales or technical colleagues.
• Learn to comprehend customer needs, including security, operational, and budget factors.
• Assist in preparing customer information, basic proposals, and presentations with support from the broader team.
• Cultivate relationships with current clients and seek appropriate cross-selling opportunities.
• Maintain up-to-date CRM and pipeline information to ensure opportunities are visible and easily tracked.
• Stay informed about local projects, market trends, and competitor activities.
• Regularly share updates, inquiries, and potential challenges with your manager early on, allowing the team to provide support.
• Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and customer visits as necessary.
• Travel daily within the region as part of the responsibilities of this role.
• An individual beginning their sales career or seeking a change with transferable skills, preferably with some experience in customer-facing roles or sales, but most importantly possessing the right attitude and eagerness to learn.
• A confident communicator who enjoys engaging with people and fostering relationships.
• A proactive individual who is comfortable making phone calls, following up on leads, and asking insightful questions.
• An organized person capable of tracking prospects, meetings, actions, and follow-ups effectively.
• A team player eager to learn from others and contribute to collective success.
• A curious mindset with an interest in understanding how customers make decisions.
• Resilience and enthusiasm — you will be learning, experimenting with new methods, and improving your skills over time.
• A genuine interest in engineering, construction, security, and the functioning and safeguarding of buildings would be advantageous.
