Junior Back-End Web Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Support the development and maintenance of backend services utilizing NestJS with TypeScript.

• Assist in creating straightforward backend functionalities, REST APIs, and microservices.

• Engage with fundamental CRUD operations, authentication, and data storage (file/database).

• Leverage AI tools like ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot primarily for coding support.

• Review server logs, errors, and issues reported by users.

• Conduct basic debugging of API and database problems under supervision.

• Aid in resolving minor bugs and executing small backend enhancements.

• Document modifications and adhere to established coding standards.

• Collaborate with senior developers for task assignments and code evaluations.

• Clearly communicate progress during stand-up meetings.

• Adhere to best practices and remain open to coaching and mentoring.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in web development or a robust project portfolio.

• Proficient in NestJS, Node.js, and JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Familiar with basic API development, including REST endpoints and request validation.

• Basic knowledge of Python.

• Experience with microservices architecture.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, including writing queries and basic schema design.

• A willingness to learn about AI tools and new frameworks.

• Strong English communication skills.

• Ability to work independently with guidance and eagerness to develop professionally.

• Knowledge of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) is a plus.

• Basic understanding of version control systems like Git is a plus.

• Familiarity with ORMs (such as Prisma, TypeORM) or query builders is a plus.

• Exposure to Docker, message queues, or cloud services is a plus.

• Experience with academic projects, internships, or bootcamp training is a plus.
