Junior AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop conversational AI agents that engage with users, utilize tools and APIs, and transfer conversations to human agents as necessary.

• Create retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines utilizing approved information sources.

• Integrate AI agents with CRMs, ticketing systems, databases, and messaging platforms.

• Design and manage APIs, encompassing API gateways, authentication, rate limiting, and versioning.

• Assist in voice AI development using speech-to-text, large language models, and text-to-speech technologies in both English and Spanish.

• Evaluate and enhance accuracy, reliability, and safety through assessments, automated testing, and implementation of guardrails.

• Deploy and maintain solutions utilizing CI/CD practices, along with monitoring and documentation.

• Work collaboratively with engineering, CX design, and operations teams to transform prototypes into production-ready solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering or ML engineering; relevant internships and research experience are considered valid.

• Proficient in Python and knowledgeable in Git, Docker, and basic SQL.

• Experience with at least one cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

• Practical experience with an LLM API, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure OpenAI.

• Experience in developing an AI agent that interacts with tools or APIs, using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.

• Experience constructing a RAG pipeline, which includes document chunking, embeddings, vector search, and retrieval tuning.

• Familiarity with building and consuming REST APIs, covering authentication, rate limits, and versioning, alongside some exposure to API gateways.

• Experience in connecting systems via webhooks, SDKs, or message queues, such as integrating an application with a CRM or database.

• Understanding of ML fundamentals, including embeddings, train/test splits, and evaluation metrics like precision and recall.

• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Spanish.

• Must be based in Colombia or Mexico.

• Strong foundational knowledge along with relevant academic, internship, research, or personal project experience is encouraged.

• Nice to have: experience with speech AI or voice agent technologies, such as Azure AI Speech, Whisper, LiveKit, or Pipecat.

• Nice to have: familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), Azure Logic Apps, or n8n.

• Nice to have: experience with CRM and contact center APIs, including Dynamics 365, Salesforce, or Zendesk.

• Nice to have: familiarity with LLM evaluation tools such as Langfuse or Ragas.

• Nice to have: cloud AI certifications or other relevant technical certifications.
