Junior AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop conversational AI agents that engage with users, utilize tools and APIs, and transfer conversations to human agents when necessary.

• Create retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using authorized information sources.

• Integrate AI agents with CRMs, ticketing systems, databases, and messaging platforms.

• Design and oversee APIs, which include API gateways, authentication, rate limiting, and version control.

• Assist in voice AI development utilizing speech-to-text, large language models, and text-to-speech in both English and Spanish.

• Implement evaluations, automated tests, and safety measures to enhance accuracy, reliability, and security.

• Deliver and maintain solutions through CI/CD, monitoring, and comprehensive documentation.

• Partner with engineering, CX design, and operations teams to transform prototypes into production-ready solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering or ML engineering; relevant internships and research experience are acceptable.

• Strong Python programming skills along with knowledge of Git, Docker, and basic SQL.

• Experience with at least one cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

• Practical experience with an LLM API, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure OpenAI.

• Proven track record of building an AI agent that interacts with tools or APIs, using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.

• Experience in constructing a RAG pipeline, involving document chunking, embeddings, vector search, and retrieval tuning.

• Experience in developing and consuming REST APIs, including authentication, rate limiting, and version control, with some familiarity with API gateways.

• Experience in connecting systems via webhooks, SDKs, or message queues, such as integrating applications with CRMs or databases.

• Understanding of ML fundamentals, including embeddings, train/test splits, and evaluation metrics like precision and recall.

• Proficient in written and spoken English and Spanish.

• Based in Colombia or Mexico.

• Candidates with a solid foundational knowledge and relevant academic, internship, research, or personal project experience are encouraged to apply.

• Nice to have: experience with speech AI or voice agent technologies, including Azure AI Speech, Whisper, LiveKit, or Pipecat.

• Nice to have: familiarity with MCP, Azure Logic Apps, or n8n.

• Nice to have: experience with CRM and contact center APIs, such as Dynamics 365, Salesforce, or Zendesk.

• Nice to have: familiarity with Langfuse or Ragas.

• Nice to have: cloud AI certifications or other relevant technical certifications.
