Junior AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop conversational AI agents that engage with users, utilize tools and APIs, and transfer conversations to human agents when necessary.

• Create retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using sanctioned information sources.

• Integrate AI agents with CRMs, ticketing systems, databases, and messaging platforms.

• Design and oversee APIs, incorporating API gateways, authentication, rate limits, and versioning.

• Assist in voice AI development leveraging speech-to-text, large language models, and text-to-speech capabilities in both English and Spanish.

• Employ evaluations, automated testing, and safety measures to enhance accuracy, reliability, and overall safety.

• Deliver and sustain solutions through CI/CD practices, monitoring, and thorough documentation.

• Work in collaboration with engineering, CX design, and operations teams to transform prototypes into production-ready solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering or ML engineering; relevant internships and research experiences are considered.

• Proficient in Python along with knowledge of Git, Docker, and basic SQL.

• Experience with at least one cloud platform, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

• Practical experience with an LLM API, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure OpenAI.

• Proven experience in building an AI agent that interacts with tools or APIs, utilizing a framework like LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.

• Experience in constructing a RAG pipeline, covering document chunking, embeddings, vector search, and retrieval tuning.

• Familiarity with building and consuming REST APIs, including aspects of authentication, rate limits, and versioning, along with some exposure to API gateways.

• Experience in linking systems via webhooks, SDKs, or message queues, such as integrating an application with a CRM or database.

• A solid understanding of ML fundamentals, encompassing embeddings, train/test splits, and evaluation metrics like precision and recall.

• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish.

• Must be located in Colombia or Mexico.

• Strong foundational knowledge and relevant academic, internship, research, or personal project experience are encouraged.

• Nice to have: experience with speech AI or voice agent technologies, such as Azure AI Speech, Whisper, LiveKit, or Pipecat.

• Nice to have: familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), Azure Logic Apps, or n8n.

• Nice to have: experience with CRM and contact center APIs, including Dynamics 365, Salesforce, or Zendesk.

• Nice to have: familiarity with LLM evaluation tools like Langfuse or Ragas.

• Nice to have: cloud AI certifications or other relevant technical certifications.
