Junior AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop conversational AI agents that engage with users, utilize tools and APIs, and transfer conversations to human agents when necessary.

• Create retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines leveraging authorized information sources.

• Integrate AI agents with CRMs, ticketing platforms, databases, and messaging services.

• Design and manage APIs, encompassing API gateways, authentication, rate limiting, and version control.

• Assist in developing voice agents utilizing speech-to-text, large language models, and text-to-speech technologies in both English and Spanish.

• Employ evaluations, automated testing, and safeguard measures to enhance accuracy, reliability, and safety.

• Implement and sustain solutions through CI/CD practices, monitoring, and documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering, customer experience design, and operations teams to transform prototypes into production-ready solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering or machine learning engineering; relevant internships and research experience are considered.

• Proficient in Python with a solid understanding of Git, Docker, and basic SQL.

• Familiarity with at least one cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

• Practical experience with an LLM API, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure OpenAI.

• Background in creating an AI agent that utilizes tools or APIs, employing frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.

• Experience in constructing a RAG pipeline, including document chunking, embeddings, vector searches, and retrieval optimization.

• Knowledge in building and consuming REST APIs, including authentication, rate limiting, and versioning, with some exposure to API gateways.

• Experience in connecting systems via webhooks, SDKs, or message queues, such as linking an application to a CRM or database.

• Comprehension of machine learning fundamentals, including embeddings, train/test splits, and evaluation metrics like precision and recall.

• Proficient in written and spoken English and Spanish.

• Must be based in Colombia or Mexico.

• Candidates with strong foundational knowledge and relevant academic, internship, research, or personal project experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

• Nice to have: experience with speech AI or voice agent technologies, familiarity with MCP or Azure Logic Apps/n8n, CRM and contact center APIs, LLM evaluation tools, and cloud AI or technical certifications.
