Junior AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop conversational AI agents that engage with users, utilize tools and APIs, and transfer conversations to human representatives as necessary.

• Construct retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using authorized information sources.

• Integrate AI agents with CRMs, ticketing systems, databases, and messaging platforms.

• Design and manage APIs, including API gateways, authentication protocols, rate limits, and version control.

• Assist in voice AI development utilizing speech-to-text, large language models, and text-to-speech functionalities in both English and Spanish.

• Employ evaluations, automated testing, and safety measures to enhance accuracy, reliability, and security.

• Deploy and uphold solutions through CI/CD processes, monitoring, and comprehensive documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering, customer experience design, and operations teams to transform prototypes into production-ready solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering or machine learning engineering; relevant internships and research experience are considered.

• Proficient in Python with a solid understanding of Git, Docker, and basic SQL.

• Familiarity with at least one cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

• Practical experience with an LLM API such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure OpenAI.

• Experience in building an AI agent that utilizes tools or APIs with LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.

• Proven experience in constructing a RAG pipeline, including document chunking, embeddings, vector search, and retrieval tuning.

• Background in building and consuming REST APIs, including aspects like authentication, rate limits, and versioning, with some exposure to API gateways.

• Proven experience in connecting systems through webhooks, SDKs, or message queues, such as integrating applications with CRMs or databases.

• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including embeddings, train/test splits, and evaluation metrics such as precision and recall.

• Proficient in written and spoken English and Spanish.

• Must be located in Colombia or Mexico.

• Strong foundational knowledge and relevant academic, internship, research, or personal project experience is encouraged.

• Nice to have: experience with speech AI or voice agent technologies such as Azure AI Speech, Whisper, LiveKit, or Pipecat.

• Nice to have: familiarity with MCP, Azure Logic Apps, or n8n.

• Nice to have: experience with CRM and contact center APIs including Dynamics 365, Salesforce, or Zendesk.

• Nice to have: familiarity with LLM evaluation tools such as Langfuse or Ragas.

• Nice to have: cloud AI certifications or other relevant technical certifications.
