Junior AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop conversational AI agents that engage with users, utilize tools and APIs, and seamlessly transfer conversations to human agents when necessary.

• Create retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines utilizing designated information sources.

• Integrate AI agents with CRMs, ticketing systems, databases, and messaging platforms.

• Design and manage APIs, encompassing API gateways, authentication, rate limiting, and version control.

• Assist in voice AI development employing speech-to-text, LLMs, and text-to-speech technologies in both English and Spanish.

• Leverage evaluations, automated testing, and safety protocols to enhance accuracy, reliability, and security.

• Deploy and sustain solutions via CI/CD practices, monitoring, and comprehensive documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering, CX design, and operations teams to transform prototypes into production-ready systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering or ML engineering; relevant internships and research experience are considered.

• Strong proficiency in Python and knowledge of Git, Docker, and basic SQL.

• Experience with at least one cloud platform, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

• Practical experience with an LLM API, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure OpenAI.

• Experience in building an AI agent that interacts with tools or APIs, utilizing frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.

• Familiarity with constructing a RAG pipeline, which includes document chunking, embeddings, vector search, and retrieval tuning.

• Experience in developing and utilizing REST APIs, covering authentication, rate limits, and version control, with some exposure to API gateways.

• Experience in connecting systems via webhooks, SDKs, or message queues, such as integrating applications with CRMs or databases.

• Understanding of ML principles, including embeddings, train/test splits, and evaluation metrics like precision and recall.

• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish.

• Must be located in Colombia or Mexico.

• A strong foundational knowledge along with relevant academic, internship, research, or personal project experience is encouraged.

• Nice to have: experience with speech AI or voice agent technologies, such as Azure AI Speech, Whisper, LiveKit, or Pipecat.

• Nice to have: familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP), Azure Logic Apps, or n8n.

• Nice to have: experience with CRM and contact center APIs, including Dynamics 365, Salesforce, or Zendesk.

• Nice to have: familiarity with LLM evaluation tools like Langfuse or Ragas.

• Nice to have: cloud AI certifications or other relevant technical credentials.
