Junior AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop conversational AI agents capable of engaging with users, utilizing tools and APIs, and transferring conversations to human agents as necessary.

• Create retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines utilizing approved information sources.

• Integrate AI agents with CRMs, ticketing systems, databases, and messaging platforms.

• Design and oversee APIs, including managing API gateways, authentication, rate limits, and versioning.

• Assist in the development of voice agents using speech-to-text, large language models, and text-to-speech technologies in both English and Spanish.

• Employ evaluations, automated testing, and guardrails to enhance accuracy, reliability, and safety.

• Deploy and sustain solutions through CI/CD processes, monitoring, and comprehensive documentation.

• Work collaboratively with full-stack engineers, CX designers, and operations teams to transform prototypes into production-ready solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering or ML engineering; relevant internships and research experience are considered.

• Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with Git, Docker, and basic SQL.

• Experience with at least one cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

• Practical experience with an LLM API, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure OpenAI.

• Proven experience in building an AI agent that interacts with tools or APIs, using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.

• Experience in constructing a RAG pipeline, encompassing document chunking, embeddings, vector search, and retrieval tuning.

• Competence in developing and consuming REST APIs, including aspects of authentication, rate limits, and versioning, with some familiarity with API gateways.

• Experience in connecting systems via webhooks, SDKs, or message queues, such as integrating applications with CRMs or databases.

• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including embeddings, train/test splits, and evaluation metrics like precision and recall.

• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish.

• Residing in Colombia or Mexico.

• A solid foundational knowledge complemented by relevant academic, internship, research, or personal project experience is encouraged.

• Nice to have: experience with speech AI or voice agent technologies, such as Azure AI Speech, Whisper, LiveKit, or Pipecat.

• Nice to have: familiarity with MCP, Azure Logic Apps, or n8n.

• Nice to have: experience with CRM and contact center APIs, including Dynamics 365, Salesforce, or Zendesk.

• Nice to have: familiarity with LLM evaluation tools such as Langfuse or Ragas.

• Nice to have: cloud AI certifications or other relevant technical certifications.
