Junior AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create conversational AI agents that engage with users, utilize tools and APIs, and transfer conversations to human agents when necessary.

• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using authorized information sources.

• Integrate AI agents with CRMs, ticketing systems, databases, and various messaging platforms.

• Work with API gateways, manage authentication, rate limits, and version control.

• Assist in building voice agents using speech-to-text, large language models, and text-to-speech technologies in both English and Spanish.

• Employ evaluations, automated testing, and safety guardrails to enhance accuracy, reliability, and security.

• Deliver and maintain solutions through CI/CD processes, monitoring, and comprehensive documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering, customer experience design, and operations teams to transform prototypes into production-ready solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering or machine learning engineering; relevant internships and research experience are considered.

• Proficient in Python and familiar with Git, Docker, and basic SQL.

• Experience with at least one cloud service provider: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

• Practical experience with a large language model (LLM) API, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure OpenAI.

• Experience in developing an AI agent that interacts with tools or APIs, utilizing frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.

• Experience in constructing a RAG pipeline, encompassing document chunking, embeddings, vector search, and retrieval tuning.

• Familiarity with building and consuming REST APIs, including aspects like authentication, rate limits, and versioning, with some exposure to API gateways.

• Experience in connecting systems via webhooks, SDKs, or message queues, such as integrating applications with a CRM or a database.

• Understanding of machine learning principles, including embeddings, train/test splits, and evaluation metrics like precision and recall.

• Proficient in written and spoken English and Spanish.

• Must be located in Colombia or Mexico.

• Strong foundational knowledge and relevant academic, internship, research, or personal project experience is encouraged.

• Nice to have: experience with speech AI or voice agent technologies, such as Azure AI Speech, Whisper, LiveKit, or Pipecat.

• Nice to have: familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) or integration platforms like Azure Logic Apps or n8n.

• Nice to have: experience with CRM and contact center APIs, including Dynamics 365, Salesforce, or Zendesk.

• Nice to have: familiarity with LLM evaluation tools, such as Langfuse or Ragas.

• Nice to have: cloud AI certifications or other relevant technical certifications.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
