Junior AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create conversational AI agents that engage with users, utilize tools and APIs, and transfer conversations to human agents when necessary.

• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using authorized information sources.

• Integrate AI agents with CRMs, ticketing systems, databases, and messaging platforms.

• Design and oversee APIs, including API gateways, authentication, rate limiting, and versioning.

• Assist in voice AI development with speech-to-text, large language models, and text-to-speech capabilities in both English and Spanish.

• Employ evaluations, automated testing, and safety measures to enhance accuracy, reliability, and security.

• Implement and sustain solutions through CI/CD, monitoring, and thorough documentation.

• Collaborate with engineering, customer experience design, and operations teams to transform prototypes into production-ready solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software engineering or machine learning engineering; relevant internships and research experience are considered.

• Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with Git, Docker, and basic SQL.

• Experience with at least one cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

• Practical experience with an LLM API, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Azure OpenAI.

• Proven experience in building an AI agent that interacts with tools or APIs, using a framework like LangChain, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.

• Experience constructing a RAG pipeline, including document chunking, embeddings, vector searches, and retrieval tuning.

• Familiarity with building and consuming REST APIs, including authentication, rate limits, and versioning, with some exposure to API gateways.

• Experience connecting systems via webhooks, SDKs, or message queues, such as integrating an application with a CRM or database.

• Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals, including embeddings, train/test splits, and evaluation metrics like precision and recall.

• Proficient written and spoken communication skills in both English and Spanish.

• Must be based in Colombia or Mexico.
